: SOLYSTIC to modernise Finnish postal
service.
SOLYSTIC announces the signature, on May the 22nd,
of a contract with Finland Post (as of June 1st Itella
) to equip four of Finland Post´s sorting centres
- in Helsinki capital area, Oulu, Tampere and Kuopio.
As a key partner on this strategic program, SOLYSTIC
will deploy a sophisticated nationwide address reading
and coding system.
SOLYSTIC will also supply 13 STAR Duplex machines and
5 TOP 2000 machines, which belong to the latest generation
of high-performance solutions. Appreciated for their
ergonomics and reliability, the STAR Duplex machines
will enable mail to be sorted in the right order for
carrier routes (sequencing). The efficiency of TOP 2000
machines, used for sorting flat objects, is widely recognised
by some of the world’s largest postal operators.
All these machines will be equipped with a COPERNICTM
image acquisition unit, which provides data for an automatic
address recognition network at each site.
The equipment will feature the latest envelope identification
solution designed by SOLYSTIC, V-IdTM. This process
provides each envelope with an electronic identifier
or virtual identity tag. The advantages of this system
lie in avoiding physical markings on processed mail
and associated consumables. This environmentally-friendly
solution significantly reduces operating costs.
The system will also comprise a “Track &
Trace” function to guarantee maximum service quality.
