Innovations which count

Innovation can play a direct role in environmental awareness. Our concept of virtual identity tag (V-Id™), enables a postal item to be identified without ink printing. Inks and solvents are therefore eliminated and recycling of materials simplified. The result is significant savings in both consumables and maintenance for our customers.

Our machines are designed to respect operators and their working conditions: reduction of noise-levels, machines equipped with systems to absorbe dust, and supervision of handling of dangerous products used during production and maintenance. We are also working on work station ergonomics to improve operator comfort without reducing machine productivity.

Postal operators are committed to reducing the environmental impact of their activities. This requires SOLYSTIC products and services to conform to legislation in different countries and to European directives, whilst effectively managing costs. In order to speak the same language as our clients, we have established some Management systems for Quality, Security and Environment. We have been able to answer without any difficulties to the requirements for ISO 9001 (since 1993) and ISO 14001 (since 2007) certifications. Moreover, although our materials are not directly concerned, we chose to adopt the requirements of the "RoHS" and "WEEE" directives.

In addition to pollution control at sites, SOLYSTIC is particularly attentive to:

• product composition and the establishment of recycling channels,

• environmental impacts for customers’ sites during installation, operation and maintenance of our machines.

To this aim, we have put in place several key actions allowing us to improve our impact on the environment:

• production of a carbon footprint report

• definition of an action plan to reduce our energetic consumption (-5% of electrical consumption in our Bourg-lès-Valence site)

• acquisition of a 4kw power electrical vehicle for the mail transport in our Bourg-lès-Valence site

• etc

Every SOLYSTIC employee is committed to the company’s environmental policy. Our logo – designed by a SOLYSTIC employee – bears witness to our day to day environmentally-friendly approach.

Now integrated into the day-to-day activities of the company, somes actions (100% use of recycable paper, heightening awareness for new employees to the Security/Environment programme), show our involvement. 

SOLYSTIC, concerned about integrating socials and environmentals preoccupations in the commercial and human relations is working on the Social Responsability of Business (SRB). Since the end of 2009, SOLYSTIC is committed to respect the 10 Global Compact principles.
