Address processing is an essential function of mail sorting, whether for letters, flats or parcels. Sorting reliability, processing and delivery times, and therefore the efficiency of the service provided by a postal operator, all depend on the quality of the address recognition process.
SOLYSTIC offers an automatic reading system called OCR and a video coding system called VCS, both already proven in many countries. OCR and VCS are components of SOLYSTIC’s coding network named MOSAIC™. MOSAIC™ is an independent system which can be connected to OCR and VCS or any coding system supplied by another sender; it is configured according to the client’s requirements. Based on 25 years’ experience in address reading, SOLYSTIC offers cutting-edge technology allowing for developments and regular updates.
OCR - performance in optical address reading
Handwritten or typed, horizontal, vertical, upside down or skewed addresses. Handles all shapes and sizes of mail, from postcards to large parcels. High-resolution acquisition in multi-grey levels (MGL) and coloured. Simultaneous processing of addresses from various different machines. Interaction with the video coding system VCS.
VCS - the comprehensive video coding system
Process data in real-time or deferred mode, depending on time constraints. Complementarity between VCS and OCR systems. Capable of printing an ID-tag to identify the item. Ergonomic design of work stations, so as to optimise the comfort of operators.
